Happy New Year! Oh man, this year is gonna be nuts! The first new info going on is the addition of the RAD Collection. A series of 24 highly detailed illustrations drawn by myself for the hardcore art collector. What that means is these drawings will not be printed for purchase at this time. They will only exist as the original 18" x 24" piece. The first of the series (which you can see here) is now available in my shop. More will be added in between other pieces I'm working on.
Hey I did a thing! CBR (COMIC BOOK RESOURCES) does this weekly drawing challenge where they come up with crazy mash ups to create. I saw this challenge and accepted. I put my name in to be 1 of 5 artists in the forum. I've already submitted 2 pieces and now its up for voting on who gets in.

For 2018 I have some big plans and I hope to use this platform to help boost traffic and get my name out there. Those plans I'll reveal very soon.
Thank you in advance and hope we win!
Well hello everyone,
Wanted to come up here and give everyone an update on what's been happening lately. Con season 2017 seems to have come to a close. Team Septembryo was thinking we would be in Artist alley for the Calgary Expo Holiday Market, but it got full fast and we didn't make the cut. Although we did get put into the Drumheller Dino Con last weekend and that made a nice capper to the year.
Since con season is done it's back to comic making. With the summer being a mess at my household a lot of stuff was put on hold until now. Michael and I are back to work on issue 4 of Septembryo. We were hoping for a debut before the end of the year, but that ain't gonna happen! We're just gonna have to give you even MORE books in the new year. And what I mean by that is more Septembryo (4, 5 and 6?) and more new stories rattling in my brain. I've been setting meetings with other creators to get some new stuff made in 2018. Horror comics, funny comic strips, sci-fi epics, the list goes on. I'm itching to get back to storytelling and really want to put these stories in your hands.
Just before I packed my bags for Drumheller I got a big surprise dropped on my lap. Dynamite published a Red Sonja pinup in issue 9 of the current series! Damn man! I have a bunch ordered so I'll have those available at my next shows or signings.
Speaking of signings, I'll be at the newly christened Rebel Comics in Cochrane with my full con set up signing copies of Septembryo, art prints and 'Raw is RAD' colouring books. Since it is October I'm offering $20 #inktober sketches. So come visit and say hi and discover a new comic shop in Alberta.
I've also received my pro badge for Emerald City Comic Con 2018! I'll be back wandering the halls of the Washington Convention Center, showing off my portfolio in hopes of scoring more comic work.
Starting late this year and going into the new year, I'll be creating these new, one of a kind, art pieces. I have a new giant sized 24 page toned paper sketch book at home that will be filled with characters I've been itching to draw. I'm focussing more on sketches, commissions & creator owned comics going forward at cons. I want this "RAD Collection" to be something that the "Hardcore" Art collector would gravitate towards. I'll post more about this in the next few weeks once the list of 24 is finallized.
And finally, I've been busy with cons I've neglected this space for a few months. That is unacceptable. I've missed out on posting new work and keeping people up to date on my comings and goings. One thing that has gone ignored was my computer. It hasn't been functioning properly since Julyish. I haven't coloured or created anything digitally since before the Montreal Comic Expo. I have a huge stack of new pieces I want to scan and share with you all. I think I can get it done this month and I will share as much as I can with you all and update my shop with new stuff.
Until next time :)
I've decided I want to officially open up my commissions. I haven't done it through my website before so this will be a trial and error kind of thing. If you're looking to get one the best way to go is to message me in the CONTACTS section of the site. In the SUBJECT, say COMMISSION REQUEST. In the actual message, just say what you're looking for such as character(s) if it's a full body or torso or head shot. If you want it in pencils, inks, grey tones or full colours. I think I'll add a new page where it specifically breaks down how it'll all work and pricing. Until then, check out my GALLERY and you can see past stuff to give you a good idea of what I can do.
I'll be working on Septembryo issue 4 and catching up on past commissions, so I'll be working on these periodically between jobs. If you intend to get one as a gift please let me know the timeline so I can get it to you in time. Like I said, doing this stuff through here is new so the payment stuff will have to be figured out as I go along. If I find a great way to make it work for everyone I'll post something and let everyone know what's going on.
Until then, hope to hear from you guys soon and get some creative juices flowing!
I got the go ahead to reveal that all 40 of my Upper Deck #GOTGVol2 Sketch Cards were approved!! I'll be revealing the process shots & finished pieces everyday. My #RocketRaccoon was already found so now the rest are up for grabs. I also have 4 Artist Proof Cards I'll be selling very soon. Here is but a taste of the Oversized 5x7 Box Topper I drew.
My #yyc fans, head to Eastridge Sports Cards & Games to try your luck at scoring one of my cards!
Any fans outside of #Calgary let me know if you find any of mine or tag me if you see them floating in the interwebs! My signature "RAD 2017" will be on the back of them all. If your town doesn't carry these cards, let them know to order them NOW! There are some awesome artists on this set and to get one for yourself is so kick-ass!
I'll be posting individual finished cards and some of the process shots on my Instagram & Facebook.
I am very proud of this set! My first chance to draw Marvel characters with their permission. Let me know what you think.
Well hello there!
I haven't talked to you guys in a very long time! It has been a nutty few months and I am so glad it's done and onto the next bunch of stuff.
First up is Septembryo issue 3. We had to delay it due to being super busy. It's hush hush info but when I can share it you'll understand why. We were going to release it for May 31, but we're pushing it a couple of days to June 3rd during Panel One Comic Creator Festival! A creator owned only comic con in Calgary. If you're looking to start on a new indy comic series, this is the place to go!
Next up will be the Calgary Horror Con, my first trip ever! I'm not a horror guy but I love the imagery that associates with the macabre. I'm sharing my space with Hazzardous Material and selling the prints of the select models featured on their site. I have a few more in mind I want to create so we'll see if I can get them done.
Also adding to my store a few more prints and hopefully more original art. Now, I did a test on the store recently and was a bit deflated. I don't know if any of you have gone to buy something and got sticker shock when you see the total price including shipping. It is really expensive, I know. I searched and researched options and basically for the size of my stuff it is the cheapest option. 11"x 17" posters wrapped in cardboard aren't heavy but big to keep them protected. With that in mind I want to help you guys out for supporting me. Starting today, with every purchase of a print, comic, coloring book, WHATEVER, you get a FREE sketch card of a random character. It could be Wolverine, Batman, Goku, Sally Jesse Raphael, the possibilities are endless!
Happy monday everyone!
The holiday market is fast approaching. If you haven't bought your tickets yet GET ON IT! You could finish all your shopping in just one weekend! One item I'm sure people will want to get on is my new colouring/sketch book "RAW is RAD" vol. 1. 30 pages of some of my favourite art pieces over the years. An easy and affordable alternative than buying all my original art pieces and prints. If you're not one to just have art work sit on a shelf, get your markers and pencil crayons out and colour the pages yourself! It works for both kinds of fans. YOU CAN'T LOSE!!! Once you finish colouring a page, be sure to post your work on social media using #RAWISRAD so I can see it too and share it with everyone! Each book is $20. That's less than a $1 per page.
SEE YOU THIS WEEKEND
Here we GO!!!
